The children's and general youth ministry is excited about the new direction taken in 2007. Beginning with the fall kickoff, the youth ministry focused towards a more service-oriented objects which allowed out youth to put into practice the teachings of Christ as learned through Christian Education ministries and Sunday school.
After our 2006 youth ministry retreat, we learned that you would like a youth ministry program that is more service and family oriented, as well as events that would combine gatherings at church with take-home projects.
In October, our Food Pantry Service project took place. Our youth served food and beverages to clients of the food pantry, as well as donated bars of soap they collected. We also launched our Faith Journeys: Scrapbooking and Sharing project which our youth created personal scrapbooks to journal their faith journey throughout the year. In addition, the youth created faith journey scrapbook pages to give to nursing home residents to highlight moments in their faith journeys. We look to continue and expand this project.
In December, several youth and adult supervisors participated in the Progressive Dinner by decorating a room and providing a wonderful side dish.

The senior high youth has continued their pattern of serving others, having fellowship and fun and discussing faith and faith-related items. The group raised money to attend a workcamp and began raising money to attend the next National Youth Gathering, in New Orleans in July 2009. A group of six senior high and three adults rehabilitated homes for the elderly and handicapped at a June 2007 workcamp in Racine, Wisconsin.
