Sons & Daughters of Immanuel

The suggestion for this page came from Pastor Steve Krebill. I met Steve while playing with the Jackson Community Concert Band. He sent me an email noting a few corrections on one of our web pages. He thought having a page for Sons & Daughters of Immanuel who joined the Seminary may be a good idea. I agreed and...
here is the page. If you are a Son or Daughter of Immanuel who went onto Seminary, please click to send me an email so we can add you to this special page.

Steve was born and raised in Jackson. He came into the Lutheran Church by being invited as a young child to Vacation Church School at Immanuel by his neighbors, Don and Alice Wiltse. He was baptized AND confirmed at Immanuel on Palm Sunday, April 4, 1971.

The story of how he felt called to ministry is long and circuitous. He earned the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Olivet College, Olivet, Michigan in 1978. After teaching and doing youth work in Toledo, he entered Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio in 1982 where he received his Master of Divinity in 1986. Steve was ordained at Immanuel on June 29, 1986.

In 1996, Steve earned the Doctor of Ministry Degree from the Graduate Theological Foundation, Donaldson, Indiana. As part of his seminary training, he spent a year with the people of Advent Lutheran Church, Cleveland, Ohio, as well as a summer in Clinical Pastoral Education at Children's Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

Pastor Krebill's first call was to Trinity Lutheran Church, Hillsdale, Michigan. Steve was there for 12 years. In 1998, he accepted the call to serve the people of Bethel Lutheran Church, Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
