MOPsMOPs is the acronym for Mother's Of Pre-Schoolers. MOPs meets on Thursday mornings in Luther Hall; check Immanuel's monthly calendar for the date and times. Mothers are able to take time for them self to socialize and talk with other mothers. While the mothers are together, several wonderful women from Immanuel are caring for their infants and toddlers. Games, crafts and snacks are provided for both mother and child. MOPs has been meeting at Immanuel for over 13 years and has continued to be a ministry to mothers of young children. Started and attended by members of our church, MOPs offers ideas, discussion from a Biblical perspective, creative activities, and general fellowship for mothers who may otherwise be feeling discouraged. Part of MOPs International, Inc. (an international, Christian organization whose mission is to assist churches in providing a Christ-centered, caring ministry to mothers of preschoolers) Immanuel Lutheran Church is a Charter Church who works in conjunction with the local group of MOPs moms to offer a place for mothers to come and meet in the hopes that together, they may help mothers bring their families closer to God. Many Immanuel members have helped with MOPs in the past. For many years, Alice Wiltse coordinated childcare for MOPs moms and current, this position is held by Paula Vann. At present, the MOPs Coordinator/Leader is Melissa McElhone. MOPs is a vital ministry that will continue to be a big part of Immanuel Lutheran's mission.
