Meet our Intern Pastor
Paul Friesen-Carper

Paul began his first day at Immanuel on August 5, 2009.
Paul was welcomed and installed as Immanuel's new intern pastor at the Saturday August 8th and the Sunday August 9th services.

I hail from just over the state line, where I grew up in Goshen and Valparaiso, Indiana. I am a student at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, where I transferred after a year at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. Before seminary I was a cook at a restaurant in downtown Valparaiso and spent two years volunteering at Holden Village, a Lutheran retreat center in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. I served there as Food Service Coordinator and Village Musician/Worship Assistant. I graduated from Valparaiso University in 2004 with a B.A. in music and a theater minor. In college I sang in the choir, acted in many theater productions and recorded a CD of original music.
